TURKEY: What happens when “lawfare” is allowed? .. Just look at Turkey ..
We are in the 6th day of protests around Turkey because President Erdogan threw Ekrem Imamoglu in jail for “corruption” along with another 100 members of Imamoglu’s team.
Imamoglu is the current mayor of Istanbul and Erdogan’s main opponent for President in the next election (which is not scheduled until 2028 but a Snap election could be called at any time) .. Erdogan is currently unpopular because his policies have led to hyper-inflation (like 40% inflation).
Erdogan is term limited and cannot run again in 2028 unless he gets an amendment through their Congress .. OR.. He calls a Snap election before 2028 which he argues would “re-set” his term count ..OR .. He just runs anyway.. Opponents say he has the courts and prosecutors afraid of him…
Over in Romania.. Same Kinda Thing..
Calin Georgescu won the most votes in the first round late last year .. But, he is in the Populist party .. So.. the government annulled the election saying that Gerogescu colluded with the Russians and used a TikTok campaign to gain popularity and votes.
Now, he is being “investigated” for forming an antisemitic organization, promoting war criminals and fascist ideologies, and giving false campaign finance statements.. Although not tried or convicted, he was banned from running for election due to the alleged charges ..

A Pennsylvania city employee has been arrested following a months-long investigation after she allegedly falsely reported finding a noose on her desk.
The Allentown Police Department announced the arrest of city employee LaTarsha Brown, who police said made a report on Jan. 10, after she reported finding a noose on her desk when she arrived for work at City Hall.
A criminal investigation was initiated following Brown's report to identify the person responsible for placing the noose on her desk. Camera video showed she was the only one that entered the office and DNA tests showed only her DNA on the rope.

23 and NO MORE .. The “DNA testing ancestry” company 23andMe has filed for bankruptcy.. When you think about it .. That should not be surprising.. The people that really wanted to know all about their ancestry have already gotten tested .. After that happens, who is left to be a customer?? Their relatives don’t need to test (unless they question paternity) …
One interesting thing that came out of 23andMe (and other similar companies) were that they developed DNA databases (that could be sold to pay off debts in the bankruptcy) .. These allowed investigators to catch criminals in cold cases with DNA matches..
IN DA SWAMP:
President Trump has removed Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden, as he had said he would. He also removed protection for former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas .. Which.. I think is a mistake.
Yes, it “plays to Trump’s base” ..and Yes, Mayorkas should probably be tried for treason for not doing his job.. AT ALL .. But, this is a bad precedent .. and his SS protection expires on its own in a few months.. If something happens to him.. It’s a really bad look.. Leave his protection.. and have your DOJ look into Treason charges..

Some former Intelligence officials are calling this a “serious breach” … But.. SIGNAL was invented by the founder of WhatsApp in 2013-2014 and it’s End to End Encrypted. It’s probably safer to use than whatever our government programmers came up with..
